Special note: Zeebop will play in conjunction with a book signing by the internationally renowned jazz writer, Ashley Kahn, who has authored numerous award-winning books on jazz.  Mr. Kahn will be speaking about his most recent book, The House That Trane Built: The Story of Impulse Records.  Impulse and Blue Note were the two most important record labels in jazz during the 1960s.  Kahn chronicles the rise of Impulse, and offers personality portraits of the musicians, producers and engineers responsible for the label’s distinctive sound, which, of course, will always be associated with John Coltrane’s most creative period.
